These are a few of my favorite things....

Fowler staff and teachers are special. This season is a wonderful time to show your gratitude. If you need ideas, take a peek at the Staff Favorites list.

Staff Favorites
PTA Awards Staff Grants

Fowler PTA was thrilled to fulfill some Fowler staff and teachers grants. These are some of the PTA grants awarded this year: 

  • science classes: frogs for dissection lab
  • adjustable standing desk for flexible work stations for students 
  • Lone Star Books for GT students
  • Snap circuits for EDI (formerly Robotics) 

We can only do this with parental support. PTA would love to fulfill more grants that encourage our children's education and well-being. Consider contributing to the Parent Teacher Association so we can sponsor more programs and activities.

Golden Apple Award

Fowler PTA has been awarded the Golden Apple Award for the 15th year in a row for having 100% of Fowler teachers and staff join the Parent Teacher Association. Thank you, Fowler staff for realizing and supporting the efforts of the PTA.  

Membership to the Parent Teacher Association means you have a voice in PTA programs and services.

 Membership matters.

Scavenger Hunt
Scavenger Hunt Sneak Peek

SAVE the DATE! A family fun event that will have you on a mad dash about town! During the hunt, teams will solve clues that lead them to locations around Frisco. Along the way, they will gather points towards earning prizes. They also make fun memories and help earn cash for their schools! https://www.friscopta.org/hunt.html

National Walk to School day was October 6th. Thank you to all the kids that participated!

PTA Board Positions

Frisco Council of PTA's had a November meeting that was attended by State Representative Matt Shaheen. He provided some updates at the state level:

  • During the 87th legislature session for the State of Texas, $664 million were allocated to help public schools with the COVID-19 pandemic. It fully funds the state's commitment to public education investment made in House Bill 3 (2019) along with funding for enrollment growth.
  • $8.6 billion to fund higher education institutes, including:
    •  $199 million for graduate medical education
    • $188.5 million for the Texas Child Mental Health Consortium
  • $1.25 billion allocated for financial aid programs
  • Increase in teacher retirement contribution rate: from 7.5% in FY 2021 to 7.75% in FY 2022 and 8.0% in FY 2025
